Mudra, Tomáš ; Svoboda, Pavel (advisor) ; Dobřichovský, Tomáš (referee)
Title of the thesis: Current issues of the copyright of the EU: transformation of the copyright in the information society The aim of this master's thesis is to analyse the current issues of the copyright of the EU and identify possible future trends, which should find their way to the upcoming third wave of harmonisation by European Commission. Therefore the master's thesis is based on the analysis of the issues identified for the revision of European copyright by European Commission itself in the recent public consultation. The issues were analysed in three steps to attend the aim. Firstly, the scope of identified issues for revision of the law is analysed. It was assumed, that the issues presented by Commission are requesting legislative action because of the lack of applicable solutions or due to high rate of legal uncertainty. Secondly, the current state of European copyright in issues was tested for striking the fair balance of stakeholder in the light of the utilitarian theory of copyright. Based on the previous two steps, possible future trends recommendable for the revision of the European Copyright were identified. Therefore, the main aim of the master's thesis was achieved successfully. Mostly due to still existing juridical solutions, the original premise about the scope of issues being...

Strouhalová, Tereza ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee)
This diploma thesis discusses the image of menstruation in the mass media and in user generated content. Menstruation is a biological process that is essential for reproduction. It not only plays a specific role from the biological point of view, but also from the cultural aspect. Menstruation has remained a taboo and been stigmatised for many years. Today this topic is no longer completely taboo, but some stigma and stereotypes remain. This diploma thesis is based on the theory of social construction of reality, where the mass media is considered one element involved in the construction of this reality. The aim of this work is to analyse the image of menstruation in the mass media created by professionals and compare it with the image of this topic in user generated content created by the public on social networks. Two research methods are used to obtain a comprehensive view of the specific issue - a quantitative content analysis and qualitative framework analysis. The quantitative content analysis is used to establish the frequency and occurrence of the topic of menstruation within mass media. The framework analysis is used to establish how this topic is represented and framed in the mass media and in user generated content.

1 CERTAIN ASPECTS OF COPYRIGT IN THE DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, CURRENT DEVELOPMENT ABSTRACT This rigorosum thesis "Certain aspects of copyright in the digital single market of the European Union, current development" concerns with the modernization of copyright within the EU. The main target of this thesis is to introduce and critically analyze selected articles of the proposal for a directive COM (2016) 593 final on copyright in the Digital Single Market (hereinafter referred to as the "DSM directive") in wording proposed by The / A Commission in September 2016 (the description of some omitted provisions are included) and subsequently compare them with the amendments of the European Parliament and its committees. Particularly by the presentation of the professional public's opinions, I examine whether the selected provisions are proportionate, appropriate and able to reach intended targets. In the situations where I find it problematical I deal with the questions of possible compatibility and coexistence of the proposal with the current legal framework in the future. The thesis is concerned with documents proposed by the EU within the program of modernization copyright since 2016 and reflects development of the DSM directive proposal until the end of November 2018 when the manuscript was...

Possibilities of content distribution on the example of Czech and foreign media
Hodboď, Vojtěch ; Čermák, Miloš (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
My bachelor thesis Possible ways to promote and distribute content on the example of the chosen Czech and foreign media describes the current state of online and print media, what problems and challenges are they facing and what are the possible solutions to those. One of these problems is also the distribution and promotion of medial content. Media are more often forced to look for new ways of finding target readers for their content which is much more complicated nowadays, in online environment particularly, because the readers' behaviour is now changing. In the theoretical part I am trying to specify and name these problems; firstly by myself and then with the help of in-depth interviews with leading representatives of few chosen Czech media. I also dedicated one chapter to the description of a start-up called Trafica, to which I am also a co-founder. My resources were on the one hand literature, such as Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman or selection of Marshall McLuhan's work, but on the other hand I have used mostly online resources, which is due to the not properly examined subject of the thesis. The practical part is focused on two surveys. The respondents of the first survey are readers. In this survey I am trying to understand mostly their reading habits. In the second research I focus...
